La Cité Nantes Events Centre is hosting a variety of national and international major events in 2019 in the field of science and technology, where scientists will discuss their research findings and present their innovative solutions.
Since 2005 with the creation of the competitiveness cluster EMC2, dedicated to advanced manufacturing technologies, Nantes has developed numerous projects developed within the Jules Verne innovation centre. In addition to EMC2, it is home to a Technological Research Institute (IRT), the Technocampus Composites and the Technocampus Ocean, as well as a prototyping workshop (FabMake), soon to be joined by a Manufacturing Academy. United, since 2014, under a single name « Jules Verne Manufacturing Valley”, these collaborative organisations work with engineers and academics to develop new manufacturing techniques based on research conducted on material transformation.
In 2019, 10 Science & Technology events will be held in Nantes including the 8th International Conference on Fundamentals and Development of Fuel Cells from 12 to 14 February with 200 participants, the ISEECap 2019 (International Symposium on Enhanced Electrochemical Capacitors) from 6 to 10 May with 150 participants, the 14th World Conference on Titanium with over 1,000 participants from 11 to 14 June, the European Conference on Constitutive Models for Rubbers from 25 to 27 June with 120 participants, the 27th Conference on Thermal Engineering from 3 to 6 June with 350 participants, the 24th General Conference of the French Physical Society (Société Française de Physique) from 8 to 12 July with 500 participants, the 36th IASP World Conference (International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation) from 24 to 29 September with 1,000 participants, the 17th Conference of the French Society of Process Engineering (Société Française de Génie des Procédés) from 15 to 17 October with 800 participants and the Composites Meetings 2019 on 13 and 14 November with 800 participants.
