The Cairns Convention Centre is gearing up to host the significant XVIth Quark Confinement and the Hadron Spectrum Conference, from August 19th to 24th, 2024.
This prestigious event will gather over 500 scientists and experts in strong interactions, a fundamental aspect of particle physics, marking a notable moment for the global scientific community.
Organised by the University of Adelaide’s Centre for the Subatomic Structure of Matter, the conference has been a critical platform for dialogue between theorists and experimentalists since its inception in 1994. Its sixteenth edition in Cairns underscores its importance in fostering scientific advancements.
Chosen for its exceptional facilities and recent expansion, the Cairns Convention Centre is set to provide an inspiring backdrop for discussions on the universe’s smallest constituents. Topics will range from lattice QCD to experimental physics, with a focus on bridging theories and experiments.
“Hosting such a high-profile scientific conference less than a year after our new expansion opened demonstrates our appeal as a venue dedicated to knowledge sharing, community engagement and education,” comments Janet Hamilton General Manager of Cairns Convention Centre. “We are excited to be welcoming the event as it celebrates it’s 30th anniversary.”
